MetaArt Foundation

MetaArt Foundation

Since its inception, the MetaArt Foundation has focused primarily on developing the youth music scene in Plovdiv. This is achieved mainly through the volunteer project "Post-Cultural Scene," organized in collaboration with the "Rorschach's Spot" club. Within the framework of this stage platform, more than 200 events were organized between 2014 and 2017—mostly musical, but also theatrical, literary, photographic, and social. Strong professional relationships have been established with young musicians and artists from Bulgaria and abroad. Collaborations are ongoing with a number of other cultural organizations, such as: the annual music festival "Wrong Fest," the Bulgarian National Radio project "Alarma Punk Jazz," Plovdiv University "Paisii Hilendarski," "Nula32" magazine, the international booking agency "Shangri Live" based in Varna, the organization "Black Nebula Events" from Sofia, and many others.

Beyond this core activity, the "MetaArt" Foundation works in close partnership with several youth music groups from Plovdiv. The most recent project, titled "Signals and Systems" and carried out jointly with the "Dimitar Blagoev" Community Center and "Wrong Fest" in December 2017, helped establish a fully equipped space in the center of Plovdiv where young artists can create music using high-quality equipment in an acoustically treated environment.

With the start of 2018 and an eye toward Plovdiv - the European Capital of Culture in 2019 - the MetaArt team plans to expand its activities.
